About Uncle Real Estate

Summary Bio for Uncle Real Estate

Moving from my home state of Michigan, to California in 1980… is a good place to start.

After a tough first year in California, including junior college and a couple of odd jobs, I was hired by Ford Aerospace in Palo Alto CA as a technician in the Battery Laboratory. I was fortunate to have met employees of Ford Aerospace at the Beach in Santa Cruz and we started talking. They asked me what I did for work. I shared with them my background was mechanical, I said “I can fix things and can read schematics/blueprints to make repairs or fabricate”. I had a mechanical background as a result of growing up in Michigan. Now it seemed, I may have the chance to build satellite battery systems according to my new friends. It turns out Ford Aerospace decided to bring me on board. I had several promotions while at Ford Aerospace. I made the transfer from building satellite batteries to working in the business side of satellite terminal operations (STO). My work responsibilities were shared between Finance and Marketing within STO in Palo Alto CA.

While with Ford Aerospace and over the next 5 years, I graduated from San Jose State University with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing, including a Minor in Industrial Technology.

Following Graduation from SJSU, Ford Aerospace offered me an incredible new position on Staff in Detroit MI our company headquarters. I accepted a full time position as a Market Analyst and headed back to Detroit. To make a long story short, working on staff at Ford Aerospace Headquarters and reporting to “retired” Military Bureaucrats was as exciting as watching grass grow.

On a night out, socializing in California on a long weekend away from Michigan, I was introduced to the owner of First Union Investment Corporation, a Silicon Valley Commercial Real Estate Company. The company was in its early stages, just getting its roots put down in Santa Clara and San Francisco. It turns out, the Owner of the real estate company had a strong team, a clear vision, a sophisticated training program, and they were offering me the potential to earn as much as my dreams could envision. Before quitting my job with Ford Aerospace, I secured a $5,000 personal credit line from Chase Bank. That was all I needed to get started in real estate…or so I thought. I packed up my car and moved back to California.
